Advocacy

Advocacy is among the most important services provided by the Louisiana Primary Care Association. Considering the fiscal challenges on both the state and national venues, now is as an important time as ever, to insure that policy and lawmakers are aware of the plights of Louisiana's medically underserved and uninsured. The Louisiana Primary Care Association works with health center consumers to advance the awareness and support of Louisiana's federally qualified health centers. LPCA provides trainings for Louisiana Health Centers to educate them on legislative policy and coordinates efforts to educate policy and lawmakers.

Consumer Branch
The Louisiana Primary Care Associations Consumer Branch consists of board members from each of the 24 health centers.  These members come together to advocate for Louisiana’s Health Centers by contacting local and national legislators in an effort to increase funding and awareness of Federally Qualified Health Centers.  For more information on the Consumer's Branch click here.

Legislative Action
Throughout the course of the legislative session, it is important to contact your legislators, both locally and nationally to let them know how important our health centers are.  Legislators can be contacted by following the link provided to the LPCAs Legislative Action center.  Please contact your legislators to let them know how important your center is to your community.
