In January 2008, after comprehensive planning and preparation the LPCA entered into a Cooperative Endeavor Agreement with the State of Louisiana that appropriated over $41 million towards a $100 million community health center Facility Expansion Initiative (FEI). Using numerous leveraging opportunities and development resources, the ongoing FEI is expanding and enhancing access to health center services and programs throughout the state.
It is anticipated that this capital development program will completely allocate funding by December 2011 . During this time, as project updates become available, information will be posted by the participating health centers through links that will be presented below.
The following construction, Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and/or equipment projects are currently accepting bids. For more information contact the appropriate health center as stated below.

PROJECT:Rehabilitation of historic building for expansion of health center
LOCATION: 1936/38 Magazine Street, New Orleans (Orleans Parish)
St. Thomas Community Health Center will receive sealed bids with qualification statements until Friday, August 13, 2010 at 3:00pm for the furnishing of all labor and materials and performing all work necessary and incidental to the rehabilitation of a historic building in the Lower Garden District in New Orleans for the proposed expansion of the St Thomas Community Health Center at 1936/38 Magazine Street. Scope of work consists of refurbishment of existing shell and superstructure of the approximately 12,000 GSF, 2-story masonry wall and wood framing member building. The interior renovation will be to accommodate exam rooms, treatment rooms, laboratories, offices, public waiting rooms typical for an outpatient community clinic.
The above scope of work will be performed adjacent to other historic structures. Strict conformance to Historic perservation guidelines is vital to the successful completion of the project.
