Legislative Policy

Health policy refers to decisions, plans, and actions that are undertaken to achieve specific healthcare goals within a society.  An explicit health policy can achieve several things:  it defines a vision for the future which in turn helps to establish targets and points of reference for the short and medium term.

As the trade association for Louisiana's Federally Qualified Health Centers, we work hard to "keep our finger on the pulse."  We keep our members informed about federal, state, and local policies that have an effect on health center operations and impact the lives of patients.


After 130 Days, The Funding Cliff Has Been Fixed
 
Thanks to your hard work, Congress recently fixed the Community Health Center funding cliff by reauthorizing funding for two years.

Medicaid Work Requirements

The Medicaid program is an important source of heatlh insurance coverage for thousands of low-income individuals and families across Louisiana.  Louisiana's Community Health Centers depend on a robust Medicaid program in order to effectively improve the health of our state's medically underserved populations.
